And while somewhat amusing to watch, driving sideways is not the fastest way around a racetrack.

I expected a video of Ron Fellows or Randy Pobst based on the title...

Or Ken Smith.

A little loose is fast. That particular video, the guy likes to drive perpendicular to the roadway....great car control but slow......if this were an autocross he would have his a## handed to him by an H-stock civic.

I dunno I think that guy might even be able to find his way around an autocross. You better stick with road courses!

However, I bet he would alter his driving style *slightly* if he was autocrossing.

Very enjoyable video; it sure would be fun to see just how he would do at an autocross in the same car/class (obviously different setup).

Have a good one,
Mike

His autocross skills probably look something like this:

http://video.kenblockracing.com/flash/player/

go on the right of the menu, click MISC, check out the autocross demo

I'm not impressed.

I pulled the slide around the backside in my 4 door FWD car that looked like his. Well there is about 3 inches of fresh snow, the no horsepower drift fun. I played around with some real low speed stuff, which is pretty tricky to get the car to move around.

He didn't change up his style (or didn't change it enough) when he ran One Lap of America in 2006.

I knew he was there cause he was in my class, I bet RAFTRACER wasn't even aware of him being there. (He was that far back)

That would be him...

He was driving like that at autobahn and blew the engine on day 1.. he came back a couple days later after a change, and I know the only time he was "faster" than me was when he went out when it was dry at Putnam. (I think you might know someone who did that the same day..)

That's a real shame. I have great respect for the WRC guys (not even attempting to put KB into that class), and drifting is a showy way of displaying rally type racing.

That he couldn't transition into a more traditional racing style is puzzling, unless he just doesn't care and wants "smoke time" for his sponsors regardless of the venue.

Have a good one,
Mike
