** F/S Close Ratio 'Dog Box' T56 Transmission **
Hi guys,
I have one Corvette T56 box here that has been modified for 'dog rings' on all forward gears. This allows clutch-less shifting on both up-shifts and downshifts.
It is fully race prepared so it is ready to go!
This transmission features the same ratio's as the GM Race Box along with the new ZR1.
Ratio's are:
1st: 2.29 (2078 RPM Drop between 1st and 2nd)
2nd: 1.61 (1695 RPM Drop between 2nd and 3rd)
3rd: 1.22 (1262 RPM Drop between 3rd and 4th)
4th: 1.00 (1050 RPM Drop between 4th and 5th)
5th: 0.85
6th: N/A
This is a complete bolt in unit.
$5000 + your core ($2000) and shipping.
Please call, email, or PM with any questions.
ONLY ONE AVAILABLE!

Is this one of the two boxes that you had for sale over the summer, or is this a different one ??? I know my 'lil motor needs some tighter gearing......

Same gearing as the GM race boxes, but those were still full syncro boxes. I have one more of the GM boxes as well that is still for sale.

If you have never driven a dog box you are in for a treat when you do. Personally, I prefer to throttle with my right foot and brake with my left. The dog box allows me to do that all the time. Way better brake modulation and the down shifts are so much easier with one foot on each pedal rather than having to brake and blip the throttle with my right foot. If its legal in your class I highly recommend it.

They are a real treat and its nice to be able to "slam" it into gear. Although for the ST classes i think we pay a big penalty from dog boxes
this is still a hell of a deal.

We still have one of the close ratio GM full syncro transmissions left.
Thanks

That being said, I've never, ever, seen nasa do a teardown. In my class we must use synchros. I know of others that do not and I've complained to nasa about checking without pointing out who. They never have. Those guys don't finish at the front anyway so they probably will never be checked, but if I ran one I could only imagine.
