Mongoose GTP In-Car @ Roebling Road
Thanksgiving weekend, Corvette Atlanta put on some NCCC high speed TT's at Roebling. This is a 1 lap bonzi starting from the end of pit out.
In the video you will see the first set of cones 20 feet ahead, those start your drag race time and the second set of cones out on the track roughly 5 seconds later stop your drag/sprint time and start your 1 lap time. You complete 1 whole lap and stop the timer at the same place you stared it, cool down and then exit a turn 4. Still with me?
I was at roughly 80 MPH when the second set of timers started my 1 lap run and at 165 MPH when I finished. Little scary going into 1 on COLD tires but fun.
So in 1 lap we did 2 events, a sprint time of like 5.5 seconds from cone to cone and 1 timed lap from the other sets. We did this twice so you would have 2 runs per event on the board.
This was my best run that came saturday afternoon after the rain finallly stopped and the track was drying, but still damp in spots. The time was a 1:14.5 which was ok but it should go a lot faster on a dry hot day and on a TRUE FLYING lap I would imagine.
All was good except being water logged. There were a few off road guys/gals but they were just building sand castles and didn't get into anything.
Mike E. was EXTREMELY FAST in his John Deer Green C5 Race car Honking it around at a 1:15.2. Nice job brother!
Good to see a lot of friends, Johnny & Debbie H,Anthony M. (Sorry your car broke) Mike & Rhonda E, Murphy's and many more.
Enjoy,
Aaron Quine

Nice Job Aaron:
I ran in 1SM class (C6ZO6 bone stock, street tires) I held off Martin W. and the other new to Roebling guys in their new ZO6s. For both runs of the first two events Saturday. On my second run of the third event I missed third gear at the end of the sprint and Martin W. took FTD away for me. with a 1:24 sec. (84.1**) Honorable mention goes to David for putting his brand new 2009 Z off track and making one of those Sand Castles Aaron mentioned. No harm was done to any ones car. A great event, one I look forward to every year. Thanks to Atlanta Corvette club the course workers and many others that help put on this great event. Get the word out we need to keep this event going. I think I can speak for the Nashville Corvette Club everyone had a great time. And Wet-******* is Always a fun evening!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New sheriff at Roebling
Nice runs, Aaron. Lynn, I think all of you forgot about little ol me from Texas in a bonestock, C6ZO6, who smoked all of you ZO6's out there...
AND I'm a girl to boot!! My fastest time was a high 1:18 and the best run during the event was a 1:20. Looks like I'm the new sheriff at Roebling!

Awesome car, just need to lighten the car up and get some more power. It is a very neutral/drivable car where you just aim and shoot.

Aaron - thanks for the video! Looks like I have the same line through most of the track! I just need to clean up my turn 2 line a little. My old 92 with the worn out suspension and street tires could only do a 1:40 :-(
Great seeing everyone out for this event - Everyone please try to add this to your list of events for next year!

Great video, cool car ( The Mongoose Grand Sport is the coolest car ever)
I had a great time even though my car broke on Fri. I "rented a ride" from Rickey then beat up on him in his own car.
I guessed I got spanked by a girl from Texas too but thats another story.

New Sheriff
Good Job Tracey, Sorry I forget about you.
Yes, there's always a chance of a new Sheriff coming to town. You are "The New Sheriff at Roebling"
Street tires is all I have. I would probably scare myself out of the car with the tires you run. I didn't know which tires you ran with. The wet track made tricky conditions for every one to say the least.
We enjoy your company and competitve spirit. I can help you with your People Skills. Nashville Loves you. You have had a great year with the NCCC I'm sure. See ya at Huntsville? or Colorado Springs for sure.
I'm a G.M. employee. Please help me save a Great American Company. Buy American. Support the Big Three. Call your Congress men/women. Have a Faithful and safe Holiday Season. Lynn Ryder

Instead of steering wheel paddles like the C6, we have a Cadillac CTS shifter assembly in the car with manual mode.
