[NEW RELEASE] ForgeLine New One Piece Wheel [NEW RELEASE]
Hi guys!
-----FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-----
New from ForgeLine and LG Motorsports comes a new and exciting one piece design, the EV1. This one piece, all forged construction wheel will further reduce weight by 1-3 lbs PER Wheel over a similar built ZX3R wheel. This should allow Z06 owners to remove 2-4 lbs per front wheel and 4-6 lbs per rear wheel over OEMl!!!
This new wide split five spoke follows the trend as you have seen on the new 2009 Z06 'Spider wheels' making for a very nice spare set of track wheels!
C6Z sizes are currently 18x10.5 front and 18x13 rear.
This will allow clearance for any 14" (355mm) or 15" (380mm) StopTech or Brembo brake setup with no spacers needed. ZR1 fitments are being tested now.
As with all ForgeLine wheels you get any number of custom finishes and combination of colors to make them your own. Shown below are two new such exciting color layouts.
EV1 Silver Powder Coat
EV1 Satin Black Powder Coat
Currently the new EV Series will only be offered in 18" diameters. A three piece version is also being offered as well.
Why should I buy ForgeLine you ask?
The ForgeLine wheel centers are produced using a 6000 ton hydraulic press. The press forges the wheel center into a general shape before it is CNC machined to create the final design.
Forging aligns the grain structure, reduces porosity, and increases uniformity in the material, thereby increasing the strength to weight ratio with consistent results. This process also allows the use of 6061 aluminum which can be heat treated to be 40% stronger than cast aluminum.
Experience, dedication, and personal involvement of LG Motorsports and ForgeLine make sure you receive the best quality, strength, and finish in the industry.
Fitments currently include: C6Z06, (ZR1 being tested now), 996 and 997 Porsche, Viper (current and past), and BMW 3 and 5 series including both M3 and M5.

I have received official retail pricing on the wheels this morning from ForgeLine.
18x10.5 front wheels $1100 ea
18x13 rear wheels $1150 ea
Putting the car set at $4500 retail, for what should be the lightest aluminum wheel for the C6Z06.
Look for holiday specials on all ForgeLine wheels coming this week, including the new one piece.

Probably a dumb question, but I am not a "rim engineer".
If the centers (only) are pressed/forged
and
it's one piece, how is the rest attached to the center?
Probably some wiki thing that explains it all.

These are a forging as well, but I have not asked exactly how they go about it. The entire wheel starts life at about 80lbs, then 60+ lbs are removed during the final process.

Everything that I have seen from ForgeLine is that it is right here in the US. I know all design, machining, painting, and assembly is done right there at the Dayton location.

They are testing it right now on the ZR1's 15.5" brakes. Being that the wheel is so new, I don't know all fitments but they are designed to clear at least the 15" 6 pot Brembo setup.
