1996 LT4 HPDE car for sale.
1996 HPDE LT4 For sale.
Due to injury, I am forced to give up tracking.
For sale is my beloved LT4, Z51, black on black.
This car is set up perfectly for HPDE’s.
It’s completely sorted, totally reliable, and will provide many years of joy for the next owner.
The car is 98% factory stock.
4 point roll bar done by phoenix.
Brand new Simpson cam-locks 6 point harnesses, installed, never used.
2 kirkey seats, 16” for driver, 17” for passenger.
Drivers side is installed on hardbar rails.
Passenger side is installed on factory tracks.
OEM sport seats boxed up, and included in sale.
Biggest C4 GM sway bars installed. Which are no longer available, and worth big money now. Factory set of 1996 sway bars included.
29,000 miles on the car. about 8000 track miles.
The wheel Bearings are SKF, which are the ONLY bearing that hold up to HPDE’s. You will not have a bearing problem with this car for a long long time.
The Vette doctors installed a turn1 power steering pump, and poly bushings in the rack. They also did general maintenance on the car.
GS calipers in front.
Extra pair of wheels.
clear top, and hard top.
Extras:
3 sets of brand new rotors. Brake pads,
Hoosiers, enough to last a season.
4 new Kumho street tires, with maybe 300 miles on them. The street tires never seen the race track. So they are not scrubbed at all.
I’m including an extra brand new ZF6 transmission, still in the GM crate.
My synco’s do whine in 3rd, but it still works fine, so I never bothered installing the new ZF6. included are a new GM master, and slave cylinder, still boxed.
Here is the best part. Which is why I NEVER upgraded to a C5.
You can track this car all day, and the coolant temps do not go above 200-210.
The oil temps, I’ve seen 285-290 a few times, never above.
So there is no real need for coolers like the C5 guys. You can track this car all day long, and enjoy it. Not worry about over heating. The rear brakes last forever, and don’t get eaten up by the active handling.
I’m including a Hypertech programmer which turns the fans on early.
Then for winter time, I use the Hypertech to put the computer back to stock. The car is perfectly streetable, and passes NYS inspection, no problem.
This car was never in an accident, never went off track, never spun, nothing. I brought the car from a waxer- garage queen, the car fax was clean. My normal driving style on track was 80%, so the car is not trashed on.
And the best part is, you can put this car into a wall, and walk away
for $19500.00

Thanks for your well wishes.
I have a massively herniated disc in my neck, which requires neuro surgery to correct. The disc is pressing on my spinal cord.
So at this point, I can't do anything physical.
I never knew a herniated disc can cause such major problems, but this can be a devasating injury should it get worse.
It has actually changed my life just knowing about the problem. I have to sit behind a desk for a day job, and be a couch potato on weekends; which is not my style.
Neuro surgery is pretty serious, so I'm not jumping into it. If I get the surgery they fuse the vertabrea together in my neck, so who knows if I'll be able to put a helmet on afterwards. Imagine asking a doctor if I can put a helmet on my head, "hey doc, how many patients have you had that need to wear a helmet after surgery?"
"doc: well out of the 10000 surgery's I preformed, no one really asked that before" obviously I can't see myself getting straight answers.

Surgery can work out!
My brother had a ruptured disc in his neck and had the surgery. They used Pig Bone wedges where the disc was and it fused alltogether fine. (Just don't think about the pig thing) 2 years after surgery he bought a Malibu ski boat and he and his boys tear up the water. He also hiked 75 miles at Philmont Scout ranch as a 50 yr old, Eagle Scout leader, carrying a 75 lb pack. There is life after neck surgery! Of course to disclose all, there was prayer involved also. Best of Luck with your surgery. And you may want to keep the car!

Larry, I have had the surgery you are contemplating. I actuallly had four vertabae fused together. c3 c4 c6 c7. the surgery went well with a great deal of the pain eliminated. It has been almost two years and I do not have the same motion or strength. However I did not have a choice as the pain made it unbearable. One year later I am back in my car with a Hans device. Could it be better? Yes, but I am still able to drive, race and compete.
If you truly do not want to sell your car I would wait to see how you recover. It is a slow process.
Good Luck
Mike

Sorry to hear Larry hope it goes well. GF goes in for neurosurgey on the 20th for her back. Hope you are back soon in a C5 with coolers.
GF can't sit for more than 20 minutes so she has been not able to work. I have had problems in my neck also and it has left one hand 50% numb but I don't have a ton of pain.
Get well soon.

If I get the surgery they fuse the vertabrea together in my neck,
so who knows if I'll be able to put a helmet on afterwards. Imagine
asking a doctor if I can put a helmet on my head, "hey doc, how many
patients have you had that need to wear a helmet after surgery?"
"doc: well out of the 10000 surgery's I performed, no one really

In such a situation, I would try to get a message to Dr Stephen Olvey
&/or Dr Terry Trammell to ask for their advice and for references to
surgeons sympathetic to and experienced with the needs of racers.
Dr Trammell's practice is located in Indianapolis. OrthoIndy
Dr Olvey wrote an interesting book
Alex Zanardi and others hold both physicians in high regard.
Good luck with the sale and the health matter.
