Default Spy shots from our shop

Here is the first photos of our newest package car. I advertised it as the "Speed Racer". Here is the first chassis done. Now comes the fun part of putting it all together for the final time. We are on our target weight!!! The cage is 100 percent .120 wall tube because safety is one of our main selling points on this project.

Let me know what you guys and gals think so far!!!

Nice work! Is the top door bar all one piece from the main hoop to the front framerail near the upper shock mount or is it intersected by the a pillar structure you built? I like how you did that and landed the front down tube on top of the structure. It seems like an easier way of doing things and allows access to welding as well as getting the tubes out of the way of the driver. However, is that nasa and scca legal?

The top door bar stops at the firewall. This same design has been signed off, for SCCA Pro racing, we have never had any problems at the tech shed. Well with things that come to safety anyways. There is more to the firewall then what meets the eye

I noticed the custom firewall and A pillars. I just wasn't sure if the sanctioning bodies allowed down tubes to terminate that high off the frame/floor area. Pillars are allowed however and there is no rule as to how tall they can be so no reason why this style wouldn't pass.

That looks as strong as the COT (that is a good thing for those who don't get it).

I'm already going to get into some crap for taking pictures of the C6. I'll see if I can snap a couple on Saturday. The Klein machine aka Jill is not looking that good right now, but this next summer she will be looking good and fast.

That looks awesome! Maybe one day I'll just go for it and get a track car built right from the ground up. I've seen what you've done for my friend's C6 and I can attest to the fact DRM does great work! Keep us posted as the build progresses.

Randy That chassis looks like a great design, Stiff & Safe. I like your brake ducts, opening in center of frt bumper, rt side net, lots of little details. I did not see any air jack supports?? What engine are you planning? Would you & Doug want to come south for some testing in April?

Hey George,
The opening in the center is for the airbox. The right side net is for the co-driver (Son) for the silver state classic! No air jacks on this one, as you know they add a ton of time and expense to the install. We have welded jack pads to the underside, so you can jack it up. Without cracking the side skirts.
Full engine details will be released at a later date. But I can tell you, it's a nice LS7 without crazy cam or compression making about 550 to the wheels. At 26XX pounds it should make it pretty fast!!!
Testing will be done in the deep south sometime this winter. The car is already getting attacked by the wrench. So with some tail-wind the car should be done before the snow melts.

Randy
