Looking forward to testing the 556 hp '09 cts-v. Never had the opportunity before to test a car before it was available to the public.

We beat the cars to death .

About 100 people invited to the 8am to noon event Sunday. Weather was sunny and mid to upper 40's. Split into three groups.

Drove the 6spd cts-v first on about a third of the 4+ mile track (maybe 1.5 miles). Four times around per person. Instructor was passenger and two others in back seat. Car accelerates and handles well considering the weight. The 556hp 6.2L supercharged engine was great. Anyone know if it is same engine in zr1? Headroom limited (maybe because of the moonroof), not a lot of legroom in the rear seats. But car sure moves and looks good. There were cameras in the cts-v cars and we are supposed to be given access to the videos sometime in the near future.

Drove a automatic 450hp xlr-v next on another part of the course. They asked that we do not manually shift. There was a huge delay after mashing the accelerator and when the car started moving. Believe the transmission has some kind of learning curve? Anyway, in some ways I liked the car better. Probably less weight and more headroom.

Last drove the regular cts 6 cylinder on a fun part of the course. Lots of turns. Ended up driving stick and awd auto cars. Lots of fun.

Couple of pics are attached including a friend of mine with Andy Pilgrim.
