TurnOne at CMP, any good?
How are the TurnOne test/tune days at CMP? Any good? How is the track time and turn-out? I see lots of days are durinig the week, so I would expect lower # of people. I need to get my car out on the track for a day to run it before deciding on NASA Rd Atl in Dec and thought this might work out well.
Not interested in comments on CMP...I already have enough of those from my own opinion and experience there

I need to shake some things down before Road Atlanta as well. I may have to tag along as I've heard good things about TurnOne. Maybe I'll see you there.

Some of the test/track days are run in conjunction with club member days, so the number of attendees can be low. If they schedule it, they run it, not knowing at what time during the day club members will show up.

Please forgive my ignorance, but where is CMP? I am in TN, and looking for any track time I can get that is half way close. Thanks. Jerry

Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw SC. It's a great track.

Here's a video of my trip there this past summer with NASA:

Turn One days are good, Brian Smith (Former Michelin Driver, Chrysler driver, multi-time One Lap of America winner) is a co-track manager now, and having racing blood in there has really helped with how things are run.
I have been to a few of the days this year, and since the Palmetto Motorsports Club events are run in conjunction with them and they have a lot more dates, track density is very low, and time on track has been way up there.

Yes, I instructed for Turn One Motorsports from 2002 until 2005, I haven't gotten a chance to "officially" instruct for them because of SeatTime and going back to school, but I have used a lot of their days for private instruction and testing. (I have done 3 days in the past two months for Continental Tires) So I think I actually go to more Turn One Days than my own SeatTime days.

As previously stated TurnOne is a good outfit. I did an event at Road Atlanta with them and it was very well ran. CMP is a good track to shake out your car. This track likes brakes so bring some extras!

I talked to Sylvia a couple of days ago about the Nov. 15 & 16 event. There will be one run group of motorcycles that weekend. As well as a Ferrari Club and a British car club that will be doing parade laps. I forget if it is Saturday or Sunday. Should be some interesting cars to see.
