Default Wearing glasses and a helmet !

I tried my glasses and found that they pushed up so bad I could not see at all. Are there special glasses available? I can not use an open face helmet.

Pushed up? You did have the shield down, right?

I've raced (open cockpit) with glasses on for years and don't even know they're there.

I have just considered trying them (eyese aren't too bad yet) and what I found was that the bottom/sides of the lenses hit the foam on the inside edges of the helmet and pushed them up off of my nose so they were sitting quite high.

My sunglasses are a wrap-around style but they told me that I could not get the prescription lenses in that style.

It would be pretty ugly with the face shield up ...lol! Yep, it is down for sure.

It's usually the shape of the frames. Go to one of those discount eye glass places take your helmet and prescription. Get fitted with a set of cheapo frames . Thats what did. Thin wire frames work better cause they flex.

Oh... i dont recommend using contacts for obvious reasons

If a new helmet is an option, I've used a Bell M4 for quite a while and the eye opening is plenty big enough to fit most glasses.

While i dont have cheap frames, they are wire frames and they are perfect in any helmet I've used (M or SA). So +1 for finding some cheaper wire frame frames with a small lens area.

I use a Bell M2 (modern version is M4) and they've fit all of my glasses no problem.

I wear sunglasses with my helmet and they work just fine. They are the small wire-frame tho.

Thanks for the replies ... I will take the helmet I guess and go to Wally World to see if they have anything small.

Hey Rex, if you go into Wally World carrying your helmet, most of the people there will think you're a NASCAR star and want your autograph. Charge 'em for it if they ask!

Well, I put my helmet on and then put my glasses back on... can't get the helmet on otherwise...

But I'm using an open-faced helmet.

Me too. Both my SA and M helmets have been Bells for years now and my glasses fit just fine.

I wear sunglasses all the time, usually have to adjust them through the faceshield (push them down) once at the beginning, then I'm good to go!

Tip from experience: Don't ever try removing your helmet with the glasses still on

Dang Jody ... never see you anymore since you went all famous and fast as hell! I'm trying to put a turbo on the SRF and figured it would be a god idea if I could see the track better! Old age has taken over! I think I just need smaller frame glasses to make them work.

I've had several Simpson helmets through the years and have worn glasses on and off without issue. That said, I normally have submarine glasses with small lenses designed to go under what is effectively a gas mask so that may help.

However, I prefer contacts...

I have a G-Force helmet and wear sunglasses all the time.
I just push em in slowly and they fit great with no problems.

Funny thing though is if I put my shield down, I lose the polerizing aspect of my sunglasses so I just leave it up.
