Default Museum HPDE ??????????????

Haven't seen anything about the Museum HPDE. How did things go? Was there a good turn out? I had another commitment and couldn't make it.

Turnout was lite, about 60-70 cars. Weather was great, low 70's Saturday, upper 70's Sunday. Nobody crashed. I made my students girlfriend puke! Great weekend.

Is there any plans to do this next year?

Right now the only scheduled event for 2009 will be at VIR. Stay tuned...

The Putnam Event was great. No incidents and it was fun watching Vector Vette appear out of nowhere in his Orange Rocket.

Autobahnracer and I brought out the C5s and had Frank Gonzalez harass us like usual with Ole Yeller 97.

Putnam was the 4th track I have driven a ZR1 on.

So that was Frank!? We both had fun chasing each other around the track.

My first event, and it was awesome fun. Come to think of it, I wouldnt want it to be bigger, it was perfect with the number of cars out there, you dont have too much crowding on the track then.

It was awesome meeting rudy, mike, rok, frank, adam, autobahnracer there. Mike gave me a ride in his C5 and it was insane. A great learning experience. Its too bad the event cuts are coming as I am trying to get involved in with HPDEs. I was looking forward to Road America, VIR and Putnam again next year, oh well.

btw the ZR1s were insane

Talked to several instructors and students and it was a great event. ( did not make this one myself either. Too much going on this time of the year for me right now)

Joe,

For some reason I just couldn't get past the girl on the hood. I was planning a different paint scheme for it, but I've grown to like the bastardized look it has. It's the polar opposite of the Beast and feels like I'm driving a shock-less car.

Tom,

You were missed both as a friend and a leader.

We implemented point-bys to include optional turn signals.

I have always enjoyed Putnam. It sounds like it was perfect. I was really looking forward to seeing all you guys again. As you know, I just couldn't do it this time and now I hear there won't be but one next year. That makes me REALLY regret not having been able to go to this one. I'm glad to hear you all had a good time.

Thanks Mike

Norbet and I had a burger last night. He shared his info on the event.

Turn signals vs hand point by may need some work on or driver attitude changes, But may also be much safer vs taking your hand off the steering wheel at 80 plus mph to give a point by.

The one time I tried it it was a bit better for the driver.

The event was awesome! The turnout is just what we expected. No to many cars on the track, and it went right on sched.

I had the opportunity to drive the ZR1 on the last day in the last session, and WHAT A BEAST! Unreal braking, unreal handling, and UNREAL power. What a well rounded car!

Thanks to all that participated and I look forward to participating in the future!

This was my 2nd NCM Event, and first visit to Putnam. I liked the track, and will need many more visits to nail some of those turns. I had (2) students, one in GREEN and one in YELLOW. Both were a pleasure to work with.

Short-Throw kept telling me I was too slow in turns 1 and 2, but I brought my car home in one-piece and had a great time.

Can't imagine trailering to VIR, but maybe I can find someone to bring the car, and I'll travel by air.

Ankur,

It was nice meeting you. If you liked Putnam, you will be floored by VIR. Better start opening an HPDE bank account as you have been stricken!
