Default R888 on Front RA1 on rear

I'm having a hard time finding RA1s 275/40/17. I have a brand new set of rears and am looking for the fronts. If I can get an R888 will there be an issue mixing the two types. I should say unshaved as well.

According to this http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/foru...ad.php?t=79145 it looks the tires are very similar except in cornering power and stiffness.

Thanks
Rob

Thirty some views and no response. I assume then that I'm not crazy for trying the combo out. I'll see if I can change my order to R888s instead of the toyos. My car understeers a little so I assume it may work to balance or possible induce a little oversteer if they grip more.

Or maybe I didn't get any responses because this site is jacked up.

Rob;
Why don't you try again. Give more information about your car, what kind of racing you're doing? Low speed auto-X or roadracing. Time trails, (single lap times) or mutiple hot laps. What track/tracks you race at. What skill level you race at? and etc.
What did you mean by saying "jacked up"??

Doing HPDEs in a "slightly" modded 03 Z. T1 sways, LG Gstop, brake cooling, roll bar and H/C. I primarly run Summit Point in advanced/intermediate run groups.

It took me 5 attempts to post a reply is why I said the site is "Jacked up".

You could probably run the Nitto 555 RIIs (if you can find some), since they are the same tire but different tread. That's what I plan to do with the RA1 rears I just bought, if I can't find matching fronts.

Just a thought.

the r888's are supposed to be very similar in feel/grip as the ra1's. i wouldnt be too concerned about mismatching. just give it a couple laps to feel them out and you'll be fine.

There ya go. Sounds like you got some good info. Some times that happens to all of us. Good luck with the tires. I'm a C6ZO6 owner and having trouble getting new rubber. I hope more companies start making matching sets for my car. I drive mine to and from the track. Running on the cords right now.

It looks like Discount Tire has them on special for $179 a piece. I'll mix the Nittos with the RA1s.
