For moderate street driving, i'd go for Posi-quiet, or PFC Carbon Metallic. They are low dust, quiet and easy on rotors.
For more aggressive street, autocross, and track day (novice to intermediate driver skill) I don't think that you can beat the Performance, low dust, high rotor life of the PFC "Z-rated" pads.
For Track Day and racing I would use the PFC "01", "03" race pads for stock calipers. They are easy on rotors and have tremendous friction.
We have 'em all in stock, call me and we can discuss what will work best for your needs.

Melting Slicks
If street only, I'd go with OEM or ceramic.

Burning Brakes
There are several other inexpensive quality options if you don't track your car. You can get a set of NAPA Ceramix for $104 - front (pn cmx7599) and $75.49 rear (pn CMX 7600) or the AC Delco Durastop Ceramic from Eckler's for $99.99 Front (pn 41257) and $79.99 Rear (pn41258) or $164.98 for the F/R set.
I have a set of the NAPA Ceramix that I use for the street. (if you ever do decide to track these pads would not be appropriate.) They work fine for street use with no dust (important to me since I hate cleaning wheels) and will probably last for as long as I own the car. I swap them out for a set of Hawks to abuse at the track.

They will work fine for you.
Did you bed them in?
Basically just warm them up a little, do 4 or 5 hard stops from 50 down to 5 mph in succession and then let them cool, This give you a material transfer to the rotors and allows them to work properly.
At the track I recommend lightly riding the brake out of the pit lane up
to the first turn and being moderately nice to them for most of the first lap. This brings your brake temp up gradually and is much easier on the rotors and pads, as well as the rest of the mechanicals in your car. Then get after it and have fun. This technique has reduced some of my customers track brake issues dramatically.
Have fun, keep your eyes way ahead of the car and be safe.
