Default Help...Tire size question on a standard C6.

Hi Guys,

What are the widest tires you can run on a standard C6?

Will 275/35/18 fit the front? If so, what would you suggest to mate with the rears? Anyone run the same 4 sizes at all four corners ever?

Stock size is F 245/40/18 and R 285/35/19

Thanks?

Mike

Hey Mike,

What are you ut to now?

I run 25.5x12-18 on all 4

tried 25.5x11.5-18 front and 25.5x12.5x18 rears, but did't like it.

Hi Dimitri!

The question is for a good friend of mine. I've tried all sizes on my Z06 and wasn't sure how that related to the standard C6 in terms of wheel wells and interior clearance.

Thanks!

For no rubbing issues and tires not sticking out:
Front: 273/35-18
Rear: 315/30-18 or 305/30-19.

For road racing, some folks are using 305 mm or 315 mm front and rear. However, those tires stick out and may cause damage to the fenders.

The only problem I had was when turning all the way in, the front tire would tier off the drm brake ducts.
So we put the stoppers in to sreering rock and used different brake ducts.

This car has a 295 up front rocking a 10 inch wheel.

Randy,
We've exchanged emails on this subject. However, you've not provided evidence that would indicate that a front 295/30-18 tire will not rub the fenders, stick out, or "hit anything during suspension travel."

GKMcCready, on this forum, tried 295/30-18 tires on CCW 18x11 rims and reported: (1) rubbing on the fenders, and (2) that these tires stick out beyond the fenders. This was on a C6 Z51. Note that these are 11" wheels. Will a 10" or 10.5" wheel make a difference here?

I would very much prefer to run 295 mm front tires on my C6 Z51, and I would purchase Fikse wheels to make that happen. However, I need to be absolutely sure that whatever I buy really works before I make the purchase.

This is not my car but Bill Neal's (of 10/10th's Motorsports) with 295/18/30ZR all the way around on the car. His car is lowered with -2.5 camber. He may be able to speak to any fender rub issues. HTH

That much negative camber (-2.5 camber) should preclude rubbing the fenders on the 295/30-18 tires. Too much camber for me, however.

Hi Guys I would like to thank Mike for this thread he did this for me. All I want to do is get a track tire other than the sc tires that are on there now. I know where I can get some good used 275/35/18 Hoosiers to play with. I do not want to change camber. I am hoping that the 275 will fit in the front. I will only track the car 4/5 times a year.

C6/Z51/MN6

Thank for all your in put
Henry
