Nice car!!

However, you can pick-up a used F1 car for a whole lot less than that.

I guess someone who is a car collector would be very interested in a car like this.

Better do a Carfax before you buy (and this is the good side!):

Above - 2007-10-06 - A rather sad end to the 005 career at Corvette Racing - the Magnussen wreck at Petit.

Yeah, and Brian Herta(car) was whining about getting a S&G penalty. Hmph! He certainly hasn't been on his game since he got out of Indy cars.

Besides, the #3 on the side of that car is just a body panel...

As far as buying an old F1 car goes, how much would it take to get one of those things running? Would it even be possible without major mods to the engine/drivetrain?

Have a good one,
Mike

It's not the car that's expensive; it's operating the car. You need a crew to even get one going and the parts don't last long because they're not designed to.

You'd have to take one and modify it like someone did to former Champ/IRL cars. An F1 car is so shrink-wrapped though, so I don't know what you could fit back there that would give you anything close to the performance of an F1 motor.

The car is really about which chassis serial no. But the neat thing about #3 (and #63 when run at LeMans) was for most of the years it was the car with all the American drivers in it The Euro hot shoes, Magnussen, Gavin, Beretta where usually teamed up in #4/64. Ron Fellows, Johnny O'Connell, Max Papis saddled up #3/63 most of the last few years.

MY credit card is only good for $50.00

Do you think they would come down on the price a bit.

Didn't Kelly Collins drive the #3 car? Or was that the #4 before the Ollies took over?

I for one would fully support Ron if he ever wanted to defect from Canaduh to be a US citizen.

I know.. That's crazy. When I was living in Toronto in the late 90's, the Loonie was worth about .68¢ to the American Dollar.
