How do I tow the race car on an open trailer in the rain? Any window inserts?
The Panoz has no side windows... I have an open trailer and no intentions of going enclosed anytime soon. The car came with a nice waterproof cover but that's more for the pitts I think. Multiple people have warned against towing w/ the cover on because of what it will do to the paint w/ wind etc.
Are there any options out there? I know my Jeep friends have special top only covers so they don't ever put the doors/top on etc.

i just drive faster when it rains.
i used to tape it up, but i got lazy and stopped caring. figure if i race it in the rain, it can stand to get a little wet on the highway.
eventually though i'll cut some canvas and use snap clips to attach it to the car.

I tow with open trailer and no windows with my C5 racecar. I made plexiglass cutouts and put eyelet hoops in the plexiglass. Then i pull the eyelets tight to the window using bungee cords wrapped around cage. I use the door help hold it in place as well. Get plexiglass at Home Depot or Lowes and use jigsaw to cut out with aluminum/metal cutting blade. Depending on your door situation you might have to put tabs either on the door or the glass. With the C5 i'm able to drop part of the glass into the door and the top of the glass is held against where the roofline/rubber trim would go. Good luck.

I got some Sunbrella inserts cut to fit the window openings and had snaps installed on the inserts and on the car and they snap right it. I also used velcro strips to outline the window and the inserts and they stick real weel and keep the water out.
Now I use them to cover the windows when I leave the car out of the enclosed trailer at night. It's easier than dealing with a car cover.

You can also go to Home Depot and get Carpet Saver in the carpet or paint department. It is a clear sticky water proof vinyl used to put down on carpet and works well keeping the rain out. It won't come off with the wind if you put it on right. It's cheap, $10 for a 75' roll. Don't leave it on longer than you need or it will begin to leave a bit of glue residue.

Maybe put a trash bag over the seats and let everything else get soaked? Or maybe just take the padding off of the seats?
How dry do you really need the interior anyway?

I had a tonneau cover made to cover from bottom of windshield to bottom of back window and down to doors. Same concept as a boat cover. Have snaps all the way around. Will find or take a picture and post, but will not be soon. Just returned from ARRC at Road Atlanta and car is at shop for service for next outing.

This is where better planning, a bigger truck, and the right trailer for the job come into play!
Sorry Brian, Couldn't resist!
Jody's Idea sounds the best... The snaps/loops sound very secure..

No thanks I don't have room to store an enclosed trailer at my place, but the open trailer tucks neatly beside the house. No need to pay a storage place to store it and have that added hassle.
My "little" truck gets 25 mpg which is nice for my commute to Norfolk and back everyday so no need for a big truck and enclosed trailer... all about the right tool for the job.
If I was a richer man I'd have a brand new GMC 2500 quad cab in black or red and a nice enclosed trailer... but I'm not, so I don't
Oh and Mike I need a shop like yours... having 2 cars in a 2 car garage doesn't make for a working garage Good thing I have covers for both cars because one will have to take residence in the driveway when the other needs to get wrenched on.

It is a race car that you race in the rain, so I don't think you will need more than a rag

I'd just rather not have mushey wet *** when driving... I guess I could take the padding out of the seats when in tow. I'm going to cut some pieces from plastic drop sheets (for painting) and tape them in place when needed
