Default NCM-Spring Mountain-who's coming?

who's coming, who's go a car I can drive (we hopefully have a rental), and who's buying at the Chicken Ranch??

We need to figure out a way to get more Vette only events, not necessarily with the NCM, as I for one love being on track with a bunch of other corvettes. It's great to have the NCM, but I know they are under pressure to keep things almost too safe. Wish the NCCC had an interest in DE.

Anyway, any right coasters flying out with me tomorrow???

I arrive McCarren Friday at 1000. Chicken Ranch and then maybe Sheri's Ranch before Tech. I'll buy you an adult beverage at the first place. I need to get a fellow Corvette owner a Chicken Ranch T-shirt. You still need a ride to Pahrump?

I found a ride (my co-renter has space for me), but thanks to the many folks that offered. I'll be in Vegas Thursday night, then we're driving up sometime Friday.

Anybody else coming.....the NCM events seem be getting quieter and quieter....

Spring Mountain always holds 2 or 3 corvette only events every year - my brother and I attend most of them. They have been an exceptionally well run event - for a reasonable cost!
They sold off this week to NCM - and low and behold the price jumped 100 or 125 bucks.
OOPs - I just checked - the price jumped up 185 bucks -

so I guess we will wait till spring - hopefully the corvette days we know and love - and attend - will be back!

Private events always cost more than track sponsored events (except Panoz Rd Atlanta).

None of the east coast groups (other than NCM) put on Vette events these days.

Well, I'm betting most of the paying customers will be from So. Calif. and
around southern NV. On our Nor. Calif. thread there are 2 coaches and
a third from WA with two others going over from the central valley. One
guy that planned to be there from the PNW blew his engine at an all
Corvette Event at Thunderhill a couple weeks ago. That is the second
event for all Corvettes at TH this year, supported by Hooked on Driving,
with some local Corvette Clubs involved. Also, MSI out of Roseville, CA
did an event T-shirt, you'll see it at SM I'm sure. On the road early Fri.

I trailered down from Seattle for the Hooked on Driving Corvette Day. Dave and his crew ran a wonderful event! Even though my car is out of comission I will be at Spring Mountain because a friend will lend me his C6Z (that was on display at SEMA).

So out of a planned five driving days in CA, only one day in mine and four in borrowed cars. Vette owners are the best!

Any people meeting in Las Vegas Thursday night? Is there pre-registration Friday night in Pahrump?

When is the next one? I didn't hear about this one, but we have a NASA event this weekend anyway.

This is the first NCM event many of us east coasters have missed...just too far to trailer a car for two days, especially after just finishing at VIR on Monday. My hat is off to the three black Zs riding on the same trailer all the way from NC to NV, good luck guys and for you folks unfamilar with them, the guys are awesome and the wives must not be underestimated drivers! Roc, Adam & the Museum volunteers put on a fantastic and safe program and we support them 100% and regret missing this event. If David gets a good ride, watch and learn.
Best wishes to everyone and also to the wonderful folks at Spring Mountain.

The NCM events are usually on their site with lots of notice. You can
also get on their newsletter and keep an eye on that. I don't think any-
body has a 2008 listing yet as the tracks, at least out this way take
forever to set the schedule. Have fun at the NASA event, I'm missing
one here to drive 1000+ miles for a weekend at SM! At least the wife
doesn't say I'm crazy, she may think it but I'll never know.

I'm looking forward to just getting away from home. Wish I had more time to spend in Vegas, but the track should be fun also. I always love learning new tracks ......takes about 3 laps usually

We have a C6 rented, and hopefully I can do a lap or two in a GM car....maybe a BlueDevil/SS/ZR1

J, this is a NCM event, not a SM event. I'm wondering if they will even
have the AMB system on.

I'm coming down from Oregon for the event. I hope to make the meeting Friday night. Leaving Oregon before the sun comes up and trailering my car to SM. It's a 14 hour trip. Can't leave any earlier because kids and their school. But I'm sure it will be well worth it. See everyone down there

BTW, if you are checking the web along the road and have never used
gasbuddy.com, try it. Gives map of whole country and average posted
prices by locals, so on a recent trip to Wisconsin I knew to fill up in Iowa
and not in Neb. or WI. Right now Pahrump has some of the lowest
prices in the country.

Good point Randy.

Surely in a competitive crowd like this, someone will be packing a stopwatch or in-car timer... Smack talk is half the fun!

(Not for me of course... I am just out there for the sheer fun of it and challenge of that elusive "perfect lap" )
