Default Pfadt Coilovers and Sway bar Install

Here are some pictures of the CO/Swaybars installed on my 2007 Z06. The install is relatively easy, the toughest job was getting the stock front shocks off, the nuts on top are crush nuts and you have to hold the shaft with a 6MM wrench while turning the nut a little at a time. The whole job took about 8 hours, I called Aaron Pfadt twice and he was a great help with info on the disassembly and the install of the new COs and Sways. I did the entire job with the car up on jack stands and didn't have any trouble at all with the install. I have only driven around the block a couple of times, so I can't really give you any report on the handling, but with the settings at 6 and the sways at the center settings the car feels really planted and very little lean in the corners. If anyone has specific questions on the install please PM, e-mail or call me. More details to follow after VIR Nov. 3-4. JD

new sway bar design looks much better than the original style. It works great, but was a bit of a mess to get setup the first time.

See you in a few weeks.

install looks great! I've been loving mine... I got a lot of "bounce" at 6 and am currently running 12/10. I also stiffened up the front sway a bit from the recommended settings.

Good Job!

I see the Heim links are different than mine. They look narrower and the lower stud in place of the allen head bolt (like your top) is new, too.

Where did you end up setting your height F&R (fender opening)?

Can you comment on how you installed your brake ducts? This was a problem with the original Pfadt sway bars.

As you can see the arms are shorter on the new design. They don't interfer with the hose from the plastic duct, however they do touch the bottom of the plastic duct that comes from under the front end. But they just barley touch them and I don't think it will be a problem. JD

I just finished installing mine this AM.

Its an awesome product. I had the original setup and upgraded to the new.

BTW, did you use spacer or washer under the OEM front sway bar bracket to accomodate the fatter busing or did you go with pillow blocks?

Are you using DRM or Z06 brake ducts?

I used the stock bracket and the rubber bushing supplied with the Pfadts, it fit in the stock bracket no problem. JD

I'm using the stock Z06 ducts with a piece of 2.5in high temp hose out to the rotor. JD

Do you think that the DRM ducts would work with these new Pfadt sway bars?

Hey JD, a pic of that would be nice. How did you connect to the rotor? Also, what slotted rotors are you running and any cracking after track days?

JD,

You'll love the new handling. Find a place to get the car loose at slower speeds and play with oversteer. The car will be planted longer, but will also give you less warning when it snaps!

You're car will be much better in turn #17 at Sebring now.

Enjoy!

Mike
