Still waiting on a reply from Joe@Phoenix for a price quote... however I have a very skilled local shop who does a lot of race car fab and has done a few rollbars in C5s, but nothing more than a 6-pt setup for drag racers.
Anyone have pics of schematics or requirements docs?

GCR section 9.4
9.3 should cover off on harness / window net requirements, as well as any other safety stuff.
Touring-specific rules are at the end, which cover off on all the nuances like what can / can't be cut for the cage install itself.

That's the point--- if they've never built a cage for a spec series-- how good can they possibly be ?? Steeer clear.

^ That's flawed logic... if someone is a master welder and understands the concepts of crash management they should be able to come up with a great solution given some pictures and rules as guidance.
I've seen the work they do personally. They did the full cage in my buddy Sonny's Maxton Mile C4, they did the 6-point in Allthrottle&nobottle's C5 that's a jack of all trades.
Theyve build race chassis etc...

^ I agree with that... If I decide to go w/ a full cage I'll most likely just do what you diid and take it up to Phoenix
*Cage
*AC Delete
*T1 "catback"
*T1 suspension
*Spindle ducts
That's $10,000 right there... and I still want the LG brake kit!
If I go rollbar etc then I'll do it locally.

Remember Buttermore getting "punted" in his T2 Caddy and rolling/flip into the fence.
Subdriver took a nasty hit in his T1 C5Z and walked away.
It's worth waiting for Joe's quote to get a proven safe design.

Waitasec . . . Is there some magic in a T1 cage that's unknown to all but a few? If the guy understands enough to build real cars all day . . chances are he'll be able to understand and build a safe cage to spec. Ditto, if they follow basic cage design, spend time in advance looking at the car, and know up from down . . . . chances are you'll do OK.
Not to understate the work that Phoenix does, but from the several cars that I've seen from them (all with the same design), I'd feel just as safe (if not safer in some respects) with the cage in my car . . . a cage that was NOT built by a Corvette specialist. All it really took was research, good communication with the welder, and regular test fits to make sure all the important parts were covered.
Read the GCR, talk through the work, make sure the end result keeps you safe, and you'll end up with what you need.
