Are those spec cars? Spec engines? Spec tires? They very rarely mention the drivers by name, only the country of the car. I assume countries can only enter one car apiece. Who is paying? The driver?Very fun to watch those kids going at it, but the broadcasts don't really tell you a lot about the series itself.

spec cars, hand-me-downs from other series I think. I dont' know who decides who drives for whom...kind of like the Olympics, you see some drivers that aren't really from certain counries occasionally.

I think the series can be fun to watch, but it's not a true top tier series like F1, and your right, the commentary is pretty lame.

The A1GP series was started by a wealthy sheik from Dubai. The cars are spec Lola chassis/Zytek V8/Cooper tires. It was just announced that Ferrari will provide chassis/engines in the future.

And of course, team USA isn't putting their best foot forward because we're so NASCAR-centric.

That's one reason I was asking if they used spec equipment. The USA team is always in the back.
