Default Does 02 Z06 need extra qt of oil for track day?

It was recommended for my TA for track days, but can't find anything here. I am assuming not seeing it has 7 qts already. TIA.

Yes the owners manual states to overfill by 1 qt. The oem fill is 6.5 quarts w/ new filter. I always add 7 as that gets me to the full mark. So.... I only add 1/2 quart on track.

I do exactly the same with my 01Z.

Thanks. I read the owners manual, but I don't remember that part. Off to get 7.5 quarts.

Yes--that's what I do--fill to the mark when doing oil change. At track, add another 1/2 qt.

I put in an extra 3/4 quart today before tracking it at Thunderhill (04 zo6). After a few rounds I opened the hood and had oil all over the air intake area of the engine bay. I guess I need a catch can because I had oil inside my Halltech air filter too. Once I got it all cleaned up I was back on the track for the rest of the day with no problems.

yeah i got a lot in my intake too so i just put in a bit less than 1/2 quart extra and no mess. just check it between runs if you are keeping your rpms between 5000 and 6700 and your bouncing off the limiter a lot. otherwise if you drive normally on the track like your suppose to 3500 ish to 6200 ish rpm you will be fine.

but i always have to go all out at least one run and try to blow it up these cars a fricken tuff!
