Corvette Porsche shootout and DE event 10-20,21 Putnam Park Roadcourse
Corvette Troy will be hosting a new type of event for Corvette clubs. We are teaming up with the Ohio Valley Region PCA to move our 10th annual Corvette Porsche shootout from an autox event to a HPDE weekend. The event layout will be 5 20 minute DE sessions on Saturday with 4 rungroups dictated by drivers' experience. Point by passing will be required in all rungroups. There will be 2 more DE sessions on Sunday morning and the Corvette Porsche Shootout will start after lunch on Sunday.
The format for the Shootout will be as follows. All entrants will get 2 single car timed qualifying laps. The times will be indexed using the PAX indexing system. The top 10 Corvettes and the top 10 Porsches will advance to the shootout. The drivers will then split themselves into 4 teams, 2 Corvette and 2 Porsche. Each driver will then make 2 more laps. The team with the lowest combined time wins.
Trophies will be awarded to Grand Champion, Team Champions and Runners-up. All entrants will receive a specially commissioned event print from Lyle James Race Art.
The DE events will be open to all makes and models
We are really trying to promote this event with the hope that a good turn out will encourage more Corvette clubs with valuable track dates to adopt a DE format instead of the old single lap TT format. Please pass the word along.

This will be great bang for the buck track time at a very safe facility.........With a little competition with the sour-kraut kind at the end.........I'm all about it. Hanging with good people, wearing tires, burning race fuel and then brutalizing the Porsche boys at the end----Can't wait
Get registration open !!!!!!

Bring the 'goose GTP down....I am not thinking that the EM ,DM or AM index will treat it to well especially AM (1.000) but I am aure you'll have a good time, it is close to the home shop and people there would love to see it......

I'm a member of the OVR PCA. Mostly because my friends that got me into HDPE all drive Porsche. I'd love to go out there to Putnam and wipe the track with them, but I'm already signed up for the NOR PCA event at Mid-Ohio that weekend.
I do wish there were more (any) Corvette events structured like the PCA does it in this region!

I am thinking that the GTP has to be AM.. but the Grand Sport can fit into XP.

That's what I am thnking of course. I will be up there this weekend so I am going to mention it. If nothing else it will give us another test with good comparison times - even if continued development/classing structure renders it "uncompetitive."

The SCCA PAX indexing was the best way we could come up with an indexing system. We are open to any other ideas for future events.
