I got a flat RR tire in qualifying so I missed the laps as the track was drying. So the bad qualifying was the result.
The dry tires were obviously the best choice but the track took too long to get a dry line, so it was a slippery early part of the race.
The officials never miss an opportunity to put on a boreing race by not throwing a yellow flag.
There was a disabled car at the entry of turn 8 , parts of cars on turn 3 and the pit straight but no yellow. A yellow would have made some drama. But at least they are consistant. Aside from the drama, we all know how dangerous racing is with the recent tragedy at Mid Ohio with the disabled car on track.
At any rate, we missed the track WC track record by only a couple of tenths. The track was still a little damp in turn 5a and b but there was easily a half second left even as it was.
Full race report when I get back to the US.
Thanks
Lou Gigliotti

Well Lou its that time of year again. At the end of the "Speed Report" on Sunday was a blurb about a GT-2 Corvette coming to the ALMS next year with yourself and Doug Peterson mentioned as possible drivers.
If this were to happen, how much input does Corvette Racing (GM) have, if any, in the car to meet homologation requirements?
L.P.

We started the "exploratory" ground work last season but since the World Challenge series seemed to be moving to a better place, we stayed. Key word, "Seemed."
So we are weighing our options again. I personally have the desire to move, and so does my team mate.
IF we did do a program in Gt2, we would work toward a 2 car team.
But that is only IF.
Thanks

If a Corvette were to be homologated, GM/Chevy would have all the input on the requirements.

FYI
http://www.speedtv.com/articles/scca/auto/39857/
The two races were originally scheduled to air in the reverse order, but a recent schedule change now places the SCCA SPEED GT race before the Touring Car race on the programming schedule. The SPEEDtv.com website will be updated shortly to reflect the change.
