Default HPDE at Lowes-any interest

I really miss running a Lowes, and am thinking about putting a 1-day event together in December. It will be during the week, likely a Monday.

Anyway, it will be a small group, more of a test-n-tune with instructors. I have some friends who REALLY want to see what it's like to go around the oval at speed, but aren't interested in doing 5 laps in the Petty school, and I think this is a great opportunity.

bottom line, 20 people for a full day will get the cost down to under $500 each. I realize that is high for a single day, but without a real "sanctioning organization" I'd be afraid to go up to 50 people. Obviously we'll need people who've run Lowes in the past as well (plenty of you have I know)

Thanks

We used to run it a LOT. I run it with Car Guys, NASA, World Challenge (raced on the Roval in 00', not the chicanaOval), PCA, SCCA etc. It is an awesome track.

They have winter dates available, and early December is what I'm loooking at now. It is probably early enough we could get a warm weather even next year, but early December is usually still nice here.

I have a price on the track rental, but need insurance info.

I would definitely go. However, I have never driven an oval, only road Atlanta and VIR. Can I still come?

ttt. Got quite a bit of interest. Will update as I know more. Since it will be so expensive, I have to have relatively firm numbers before I fork over any cash!

David,

No offense to those who have shown interest but do yourself a favor and collect their cash up front. I've done this before and it's a major hassle potential if you don't and you're on the hook. Also, consider having someone with a corp or LLC sign the rental agreement for liability purposes.

Is it just the oval or oval and infield?

I don't think you will have a large issue getting folks to go.
This is the best oval combo infield course by far I and likely most others have been on.
