HPDE's during the week, your thoughts
With more and more tracks being booked solid on the w/e,
Monday and Fridays are now becoming booked.
Whats your thoughts about the M/F and/or during the week HPDE
I could see limited numbers with a great deal of track time on days like these.

Here on the left coast, we have a few HPDE organizers who do only mid-week track days. If you can find a way to get the day off from work, they are the way to go, because you get much more track time and the event prices are lower too.
I sometimes wonder if they are covering their expenses, though.

I don't mind taking a day off during the week for a track day but it would have to planned well ahead.

I'm open to any weekday events, including 2-day ones. Lower cost and cap entries at a smaller number. More seat time and more open track. Works for me.
As far as the instructor issue. The event could easily be limited to solo drivers only. Or only 1 student group instead of 2 or 3 as is more typical.
We've already been approached about this in the local club I'm a member of. Just waiting to hear back on what number of people will be needed to guarantee the event so the club breaks even.

Nearly all of our events at Pacific Raceways (near Seattle, WA) are during the week. Fortunately for me, it's not a big deal to take a vacation day and go play.
We always seem to have a pretty good turnout too. The last two schools had 50 & 65 cars respectively, excluding the 25 of us instructing

From a promotors stand point:
Mid week events:
- Some tracks are less expesive to rent, Monday though Thusday. In many cases much less then the Friday to Sunday and Holiday rates.
- getting instructors is difficult. Most instructors race, instruct and have full time jobs or business to run. For an instructor to take time off from work during the week is not very easy.
Form our student survey, Monday and Tuesday were picked over any other week days. Rember Friday is a weekend as far as tracks are concerned.

Granted, some of us are lucky not to have to worry about the time off from work issue. Also, it doesn't seem to be difficult to find instructors as they always seem to have plenty. I usually take Tuesday off to prep and get up there, run on Wednesday and drive home that evening.
I think those of you who don't have weekday availabilty currently would love it.

Most of the events I attend are on weekdays. There just are not enough weekends during the season. Weekdays are what vacation days are for.

Weekdays seem to have alot of advantages. I am one of the lucky ones who can get off work whenever. I am actually doing the VIR on Aug 6th (Thurs), so I will see how it goes.

Hey my company gives me 5 1/2 weeks of vacation...who am I to refuse their gracious gift! I take 2 weeks vacation with a handful of weekdays.
Besides everything besides racing is simply waiting.

Many advantages, I agree. I have a 3 year old so talking a day or 2 off work during the week is actually preferrable because if I am at the track on a weekend, I would miss a lot more time with the family. If I am at the track during the week, I would normally be at work, not with the family anyway. I don't do too many HPDE's so I have plenty of vacation to cover a few days a year.

Ours are mostly weekdays.
Monday or Friday's. I prefer Mondays because you have the weekend to prep.
The tracks we use are full on weekends and bigger dollars.
I wouldn't be too fond of Tues/Wed. Thursday might be all right if I took Friday off and made it 4 day weekend.
