Default What is the best "RACING" School?

I mean "Wheel to wheel, not HPDE"? I want to send my daughter to learn how to drive in Vintage Racing.
Thanks,

interesting question... all the racing schools i've been to do not allow open passing. i strugle with this myself.. however fwiw i think just getting out on track does have some good points .. i have been given greif for running off line at track days but i want to know what to do and how it feels to say go into turn one imagining that there is a car on line and i am trying to get inside it.. if she is a beginner it may benifit her just to master the car alone first then persue open passing.......

Skip Barber??? I believe they allow open passing and once you finish you get your Comp licence. Look into it

The Russell Racing School at Infineon (Sears Point) has been really good
for me. I have done the techniques class in the F-Mitsu, like vintage
formula Fords, and then taken the Advanced Racing class 4 times over
the next 4 years. The last class, Ric McCormack (Sp?) is the lead instructor
and I worked with Dane Cameron the current leader of the Star Mazda
'07 series. They work not only on car control but what to do off line
and more important, what not to do. Each time I've picked up time on
my best and what I could consistently lap at.
A couple years ago I took the class with a former X-games snow boarder
a gal whose name I forget. She was pegged as having better than
average talent early on and they work well with individuals to get your
best potential. Then again I heard that she went back for a race
weekend and ended up crashing out, it pays to take it in steps.

The advanced classes are currently in Formula Mazda's, about 150HP
at 1050# while the techniques class is 125HP at about the same weight.
They also rent out the techniques cars for the CSRG licencing day,
early in the season, since they are comparable to vintage open wheel
cars. They have street tread tires and no aero but are an absolute
kick to get up to speed.

BTW, I went up to Sears Point today to watch at the TrackMasters event.
The Russell garage is gone and they have a new facility off the inside of
turn 1 that is amazing, garage in use. The Admin is still in the old building
but will move soon. All looks like Red Wine and Silver color combination and
I've heard that the racing series is due to get new cars for next year.
