C3 Video camera mount? where?
I have a C3 and will be doing track events this summer. With these old cars I am a bit curious as to a decent (safe) authorized spot to mount my on-board video camera. I have the camera bracket from saferacer.com.
Anybody else ever race a C3 Vette wanna shed some light as to where you have mounted your video camera?
-Thx
Andy

Though I haven't done any recording in my car (Al-we need to do this!), the best way would be to mount the camera to either a roll bar or harness bar. If you have headrests on your seats you may be able to fab something to those, but it must be secure otherwise it will not pass at tech inspection.

This is a roll bar mount and it seems to work pretty well. Although it is in a C4 I think it would be pretty similar to anything with a roll bar.
Chris- All we need to do is figure out an adapter of sorts to work with a smaller dia. tube. I almost think a nylon or poly insert could serve the purpose well.

Here it is. Although I don't have a rollcage (yet) I was thinking of drilling it up into the T-top crossbar roll section.
Check it out.

You might want to consider a harness bar so that you can use a 5-point harness to keep you in the seat and not have to use your arms to hold your upper body in the seat.
Once a bar is installed, you have an excellent spot for a camera. If you don't go the harness bar route, try ChaseCam for a nice suction cup style of mount.
