Default Code p1111 - can it cause mis-fire?

Checked for codes once I got home tonight - I had a p1111 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Circuit Intermittent High Voltage. I had a couple people come up to me towards the end of the day asking if my car was miss firing...nothing seemed odd, but I did get some on video which sounded like a pop (not back firing). The other odd thing is that it only seemed to occur after sharper right hand turns. Could the motor be missing a beat? Thoughts?
