Default WOW, gauges are expensive!

Looking for 2 5/8 electronic gauges, full sweep.

Oil pressure
Oil temp
Coolant temp

The only brand I have found that has the 2 5/8 electronic full sweep is Autometer in their Ultra lite category, and they are $150-$200 each. This sound right? Matching tach and speedometer are another $400. I didn't really want to have a grand in gauges.

Any suggestions? Other brands?

I did a full set of autometer gauges in my RX7, but when I look around now I'd probably pick something like the DL1+DASH1 or G2X and get data acquisition and, effectively, the gauges for real close to the same price.

DL1 ($965) + DASH1 ($675) or DASH2 ($965)

I have no direct experience, but research is showing me it's less expensive to add sensors and inputs to the DL1, so that may be a factor in looking at the G2X pricing. There are a bunch of threads here about the various data acquisition systems if you start leaning that way rather than individual gauges.

In any case, the g2x is $1000 which is the same price as the gauges, but you get so much more... oil pressure, temp, and coolant shouldn't be that much to add. Tach is basically included.

You could look at the AIM and SPA dashes, too, they're not GPS but they should offer similar functionality.

Check out http://egauges.com/ they have the 2 5/8" and the smaller styles to. Here is an example:

http://egauges.com/vdo_mult3.asp?Typ...eries=Pro_Comp

60°-210°F 2 5/8 WATER TEMP $220.76 $126.90 Full sweep

A little less cost anyways.
By comparison the gauges not full sweep are sooo much less:

100°-250°F 2 5/8 WATER TEMP $78.50 $45.90

Check around on the site, maybe this can help.

Cool thanks!

$126.90 isn't too bad for a full sweep. I don't want to go short sweep, even though they are much cheaper. With the short sweep, there isn't much difference between "everything is A-OK" and "There goes $5000".

That's what I figured, there is atleast a little savings at that site then. Have you thought of LED gauges at all? I put an LED in for trans temp and it's very quick to read the number for temp. These are also much less expensive.

I prefer the analog guages myself. I don't know why, there isn't a good reason. I guess it's just a personal preference.

I like them to! I plan to use some of each, for me it seemed easier to know witch gauge is what that way. FYI the one LED gauge that I have, has a warning feature. You can set it to flash the gauge at whatever temp you want.
