AVON Tech R tires (tyres) anybody run them?
Has anyone ran the AVON Tech R tires for autocross or track time?
Largest size available seems to be the 275-40-17's so you C5/C6 guys probably are not running them.
Simalar tread design to the Kuhmo V710 (2 grooves 4/32" deep) D.O.T. rated tire, treadwear rating of 40, very stiff sidewalls, can be difficult to mount using normal methods. Need lots of lube and about 80-100 psi of pressure to seat the beads (my experience anyway).
I'm looking for input, good or bad.
I've run em' once, 29 laps on Putnam Park road course over 2 days, I liked them so far, treadwear low, traction good, seem to like higher tire pressures better (38-40 psi hot) just my experience.
Anybody else try these out?

I've been looking for a review on these, as I'm on my second set of Tech M500 for the street and I've been very happy. I run 17s all around on the track and I'm considering a set of the Tech Rs to replace my V700s.

I'll post more after I run some low-speed autocrosses for a good comparison to Kuhmo's and Hoosiers I have run previously.
So far I like em' and the price is right as well.
