Looking to get into Auto-Cross/Chi IL
What is the best way to get started in SoloII, I am looking for an organization in northern Il/Chicago area as I live in Crystal Lake, IL.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I have ran with them all, and they are all very good clubs. They run at Rt66, Miller Park and Dairyland quite abit.
You could also find some of the smaller clubs around also.

I will second the events at Miller Park.
Weather you run with Milwaukee SCCA or WAI (they are pretty much the same group of people). They have a lot of good drivers to help you out, including last years A-stock champ Jeff Cashmore, who drives a C4.
It may be a little bit of a drive but worth it. I drove an hour to get there.

Salt Creek SCC runs smaller Solo II type events. I have been a member for many years. Schedule below:
http://scscc.net/schedule.html
Tri-State and SCCA are more competitive, but seat time used to be limited because of large turnouts.
Madison Sports Car Club does Solo II events & might be worth the drive.

I know it's not SOLO II stuff, but you may want to check out the National Council of Corvette Clubs activities in your area, it's all Corvettes autocrossing, Milwaukee to LaCrosse to Southern Illinios to South Bend Indiana to the Quad Cities.

Is the Midwest Region webpage, from there you can check competition schedules, and local club websites. The Midwest Region covers Illinios, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
