Default New Road Course in Kentucky

Just came across this.

http://www.drivebluegrass.com/facilities/track.html

Be damn nice if this works out, as so many road courses get delayed or squashed, but being by the speedway it should happen.

I didn't see anything on track length...I looks like a 40 turn track with no true straightaways. looks interesting and within my tow range.

Hey Danny, they will have a tent at an event at Ault Park on 6/10/07 - The Concours d'Elegance. Think I'll go and see what they have to say in person.

Got this back from them:

"In terms of our timeline, we are on track to break ground on October 15th, with plans to open in Mid-2008. Even though there are many variables in developing a $16M facility, we are confident we will continue to stay on track."

Keep us posted on this Rob ..... it will be quite interesting to see if it happens. 10 months is a pretty ambitious schedule since they are apparently looking for investment money.

We need all the tracks we can get!!

thats awesome. Man i wish i lived close to a facility like that. Hope it happens.

Amazing that you spend 16m on a place like this in Kentucky and have to shut it down in winter months. Seems that you would have it in Jacksonville Florida so it could be open year round. Probably better off not as it would be like having a casino next door to an addicted gambler. Ide be there every weekend.

The concept looks like Autobahn Country Club here in Illinois. When it was first announced we figured it was pie in the sky and would never happen. A few years later, they are talking about a waiting list for regular membership ($35,000 initiation and $3,000 dues per year).

Put down 4 million and mortgage 12 mil ( simplified )....monthly mortgage payment, 15 years at 6.9%, is $107,189.62. That's one heck of a nut!
Any federal funds available for creating track and NOT planting tabacky?? (j/k )
