Knee pads for C6?
My knees are bruised - mostly left knee - after an hour or so of track time last Friday. Does anybody make knee pads or bolsters for your knees in a C6 with Stock seats. I am not looking for major mods and appreciate racing seats and a harness bar would lock me in better but I was bracing myself against the door panel.
It doesn't have to be high tech. If there isn't anything available I will tape foam on my knees...

Once had problems in a Reynard with a bulkhead that was directly beside my knees. I cut out and velcroed sorbothane pads to it and also wore regular basketball (or volleyball) knee pads turned sideways. You can put the pads under your suit if you don't like the look, but their much easier to locate if you wear them out.

edit - thinking about this, if you're in a class requiring a suit, putting them on the outside will not only protect that investment, but will keep any synthetics from melting onto your skin in case of fire...

Go to a sporting goods store like Dick's and get the neoprene knee supports for about $10.00. The ones with the hole cut out for your knee cap. Works beautifully, but I'm not sure if they are fire resistant, FWIW.

Remember the 1st time I got out of the car with blood all over the left outside part of my knee. Could not figure out what the heck happened. Now I wear a knee pad I got from a sporting goods store. Works fine and no more bloody knee.

Check with Monica Lewinski..
Actually, if you buy a race lap belt and attach it to the stock seatbelt bolts under the stock harness, you can cinch yourself to the seat and still have the road harness for commuting. I used to do that in a Z-28 I drove for teaching. Otherwise go to the sports store as Goldie suggests.

Been down that road , got my pads from the local sports store . Tossed them after installing 5pt. harness but had to dig them back out after going to 710's . Put them back on the shelf after installing Cobra Race seat!
If you stay with the DE track days long enough, you'll be doing the same.

Even with a 5 point harness I wear knee pads. Some inexpensive foam knee pads with velcro straps from Home Depot work great!
