Got some fresh calipers and brackets powdercoated from Jason (Cajundude) @ Gulf Coast Performance.

Today the rear pads were very tought to get in place.. Will I have pad dragging issues? Or you think they'll loosen up with use?

Should I grind the pad backing plates until they slide in/out w/ ease?

They're new calipers... the issues is where the "ears" on the pad backing plates fit into the caliper bracket. The added thickness of the powdercoat made them very tight to pop into place.

2 of the pads wouldn't even go so I had to grind the packing plate "ears" a little.

I'm wondering if they bing in there tight will prevent the pad from comming off the rotor surface when the pedal is released.

Grind the extra powder coat off the mounting ears.

Why didn't you just scrape the paint out of the grooves instead of grinding down the tabs?

I doubt you'll have an issue with the pad dragging. You'll certainly notice it if you do as you leave your driveway, if it's sticking on the rotor.

Thanks guys... I didn't even think about the issue until I had it all together. I was simply concerned about getting the pads in.

They're only tight on the rears for some reason... I can either use my bench grinder to grind the pads some more, or I can take my dremmel to the PC.

I'll probbaly do the latter. We'll see.

Eh... just went out and looked at it... grinding off the PC has the potential of making the brackets look ugly if I don't do it perfectly (yes I'm part waxer).

I'll just pull the rear pads and bench grind the ears a smidge more.

See you've got new bleeders....hope they didn't paint down inside of the bleed holes....

When you bed the pads they will wear down a little to.

Bleed holes, brake line holes, and slide pin holes were all sealed off perfectly.

Make sure there is some play between the pad and the caliper when cold. Pads get hotter than the caliper and differential expansion can lock the pad in the caliper. result: No braking in that caliper or dragging pad in that caliper.
