Extra Oil for HPDE?
I know I have read it here but can't find it after some searching. I am doing an open track day tomorrow (Pocono North -- first with the C6) and am looking for guidance on what I remember reading but can't find... Namely, add an extra quart of oil to the C6 prior to the day at the track...
Is this right?
TIA

Melting Slicks
Well...I had mine set to the top....by the end of the first day it was the same...but that was a driving school...the second day was open track and it did eat up 1 qt by the 4th session.

C5s and C6s, IIRC C4s should put in an extra quart. C6Z06s do not need the extra quart do to the dry ( damp) sump. However, C6Z owners should remove the screen below the tank, and make sure the oil is not above the 2nd hole in the dip stick. IIRC when the oil goes above the third hole on the dip stick, the car goes into limp mode, or oil gets spayed on the the MAF and car goes into limp mode.
Catch can is a real nice help on the C6Z

Also watch the MAF sensor so that does not get gummed up with oil.
