F55 + Z51 springs/bars works on the track
Just wanted to let you know that my F55/ Z51 combo worked great this past weekend at Gingerman.
My last C6 was an 05 Z51 which was rough on the road and noisy on the highway.
On the 07 I went F55 (which has Z51 brakes this year) and we added Z51 bars and springs.
Now I can cruise on tour in comfort and switch to "sport" for the track.
For the track day I did switch to a spare set of F1 supercar tires (Z51 style) and the car handled extremely well on the track. Actually the car is far less twitchy at the limit compared to my Z51.
Put the oem F1 tires back on and my ride is smooth and quiet with the F55 set on tour.
I actually much prefer the gear ratios now able to reach about 115mph in 3rd (hard to say for sure as the braking zone was FAST approaching).
May need an oil cooler for the hot summer......not sure yet.
