Default I need an LT1 sandwich-type oil cooler adapter

Looking for something high quality that won't crack or leak. Any suggestions?

TPIS sells a billet one for $100. Seems a little high, but may be worth it.

Only thing I found on Jegs site was a real cheap no-name one.

Found a bunch on Summit's site, but they listed them by size and not application. Summit's site sucks the big one anyway.

The purpose of this thread was to see if anyone had anything positive or negative to say about any particular brand or style.

If you have the stock cats, you need to get a specialty piece that offsets the filter to the side (like the stock filter adapter does). If you don't have the stock cats, a standard SBC filter adapter will work which opens up a lot of lower cost options. I've seen a bunch on e-bay in the past.

If you want something that wont leak, forget the sandwich adapter. That design is crap.
LPE makes a nice reliable piece.

I went with the mocal adapter with 180 deg thermostat from racers parts wholesale

MOC-SP1CT 13/16 THERMO PLATE 1.00 1.00 0.00

The total for your order is $120.07.

Is there a specific reason that you need the sandwich type, they are crap IMO. Just go with a external, single core cooler, you'll be much happier.

It doesn't necessarily have to be the sandwich type. The LPE type piece would work if anyone makes one for an LT1.

I'm running long tubes with no cats, so no offset filter needed.

These are not the stock sandwich type coolers where water is circulated through the sandwich. With these sandwiches, the oil is circulated out through an external cooler.

I run a MOCAL EOC filter adapter that has a built-in 180F thermostat to it. Thin and I don't have to get a shorter filter for it.

AHHH, it looked like a stock unit that had been polished. Now I see why you want one of those

As I said "Why not call them"? The web site should have the toll free number. They may actually surprise you with their selection.

Canton oil pans or Barnes oil systems have what you need.

I'm going to do as other have done and relocate the filter all together, that way it doesn't soak up the heat from the cat on that side.
