ECONOMICAL race seat mount
With apologies to Gary @ Hardbar, does anyone have ideas or recommended parts for a more economical race seat mounting scheme? I'm sure the Hardbar stuff is top notch, but at $325 or $350 (I forget), those seat mounts are gonna cost more than the seat and cover combined (probably going w/ UltraShield Pro Race)! Are there any other suggestions out there? Or, Gary-- any possibility of price reduction in the future?!
Thanks,
Fred

I have Corbeau seats in mine. I'm using the double locking slider. That was about $110. They make a universal side mount for about $80. Not even close to the quality of the Hardbar mounts. I tried one. It isn't long enough to bolt up to the factory studs. So I would have had to bugger it up to use it. I was afraid extending it would be a questionable idea and returned it. Just in case you were thinking about the universal brackets. You need to measure the distance between the studs front to rear and make sure the bracket is long enough.

I bought some 1/4" aluminum angle, 4" on each side, for around $40. Drilled my own holes and it's rock solid.
Hardbar makes a really nice setup, but I had to be thrifty this time around also. If you can measure, drill and cut, this is about as cheap as it can be done.
