Corvette Days at Spring Mountain... why no report?

Hey, I keep looking for a report.

Someone fess-up!
sorry for the delay , I was tired and exhausted and on top of it I came

down with a miserable cold last week .... ...all better now.......

Now for the good stuff ...................the drive out to Parhump is approx 4-5 hours

from Santa Monica, I was leaving a day early so was in no hurry............

and was getting good gas mileage seeing as how pump prices keep rising

the desert was being the desert .so I stopped and took some pics

when I arrived at Spring Mountain on Thursday April 20th ............

there were exotics running on one track and a private GT class on the other

double take

Others also arrived early and were taking in turn 3

If youv'e never been to Corvette Track Days, few words are needed

to describe all that you are missing out on..............

New vehicles are being explored for racing,by both Dave's from SM

Saturday 7 am Driver meeting

After all the flag instruction we were eager to get out on the track
..............

lots of practicing being in the drivers seat when not on the track

Hot Nevada Vettes had a Car show & Parade lap too!

and then the UntHinKAbLe happened..........................

the Most Powerful Stock Corvette Ever Produced for retail production

showed up.........and lets just say things were never the same.........

the Instructors at Spring Mountain were always hanging around

hoping to get a ride in her.............

....and if they couldn't they would throw there body infront to say

they were run over by The Most Powerful

sorry no autographs and no rides this time.......I had rented a transponder

(file photo)

to be continued.......................................

Man, has it been that long? I don't even recognize the place anymore!!

As a word of advice, keep it under a buck twenty on that hwy passing Dumont Dunes...it's deceivingly appealing to open her up...I fell into that trap when I first attended Corvette days and received some nasty road rash to my undercarriage

That venue has always been top notch!

See ya next time.

you were towing a trailer, and the locals in Baker say it was closer to a buck forty

Sounds like a blast. Your car looks nice with all those fancy decals. I especially like the winshield banner. Not exactly modest, are we?

I was there three weeks ago for level two. They were getting ready to break ground on the new Vette center and the Clubhouse.

We spent a couple of extra days in Death Valley. Gas at Stovepipe wells was $4.00 for regular (no premium to be had)
I hope the wind had settled down. Nice Pics.

Yep...ran the 3.1.
There was a someone out there in a C6Z06 with "something other than street tires" who ran a 2:31, and I ran a 2:32 in my C5 with well-used Kumho 710's.
I need Oli out there to chase again!! I'll get into the '.31's next time with some fresh tires!

Speaking of Victor...he is now a famous model. Check out www.corvettemuseum.com click on CORVETTE STORE . You will see that Vic has THREE photos in the New Items section. I'm sure that if you print them out, he will be happy to autograph them for you.
