ALMS Aero pics (LARGE)
Some pics I took of the ALMS cars while I was at the Houston GP. The ALMS cars raced on Saturday night and the teams left them out for the public to view on Sunday. All cars are still dirty from the race.
These are big pics so you can better see the aero work.
One of the Porsche powered teams.
Looking back from under the front splitter. (driver side)
Passenger side
Looking forward from the side (opposite direction of the above picture). You are seeing the gap between the wheel fairing (on right) and the body (left side)
Diffuser
More to follow.

Porsche Team
Looking into the opening, next to the wheel fairing of the previous pic. (under the white "P2" sticker)
Looking forward from the exit of the same opening.
Under Front Splitter
Front side winglet (canard). The piece has a notch in it where the front half is at a higher angle then flattens out for the upper half.

Audi Team
under Front Splitter
Side vent (front wheel fairing on left, body on right)
Intercooler vent (i think) just aft of the driver cockpit (diver side, roll bar on right, the red scoop is just to the left).
Diffuser
Up the tailpipe... Thats why they are so quite. They have a diesel particulate filter or is that catalytic converter???

I see one picture the diffusers looks like aluminum and another Carbon Fiber any more insights? Thanks.
May be a particulate filter as the are tryng to build the image of diesel technology for their cars. Last thing they want is a noisey smoking car I would guess.
Watch you don't get pinched as an industrial Spy

Spy... me and the other 5000 people groping all over the cars.
The entire Protype car is carbon fiber. All the diffuseres are carbon fiber. I think that is just the camera making it look different.
One thing in did notice was that all the diffusers looked alike. On the outside is the wheel gaurd/fairing, then one strake about a 1/4 of the way in, then the simple wedge.
Very strange...
Probably rule regulated.
