Default June 3 SCCA PDX at Summit Point

Links to registration are here:

http://www.wdcr-scca.org/07schedALL.html#PDXOnly

As most of you know, this is the SCCA version of the HPDE. It leads to Club Trials later in the year.

The first WDCR PDX, at Shendandoah on March 31, went very well. The next event is on the Main Circuit.

I would welcome some other Corvettes to play with at this event on June 3. I was the only ZO6 on March 31.

I am thinking of doing this event. Are the rules any different than NASA for the HPDE type events... are extinguishers required, etc? Anything that SCCA requires for their HPDEs that differs from the other orgs that run at Summit?

Thanks,

cj

All right, Jim ... I signed up ...
Never done an SCCA event; did my first NASA event last Aug.
Appears this is on the main track ...
Also wait-listed for the FATT Fri, 8th (Shenandoah Circuit).
Will do one; not both ... need some track time to feel out the Nitto 555's I just got (all prior time has been on stock GY F1SC's)
I haven't been out yet this year ... going to VIR for the NCM event early July; can't make the end July HPDE at Summit as I'll be out of town that weekend.
See you there ...
BTW ... any interest in coming up to Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen May 19 for 7 East Region NCCC lo-speed autox events? (see events thread).

I am thinking about this event. Are there regional dues on top of the $60 for the regular SCCA dues?

Thanks,

cj

Way I read it is you don't need to be SCCA member to sign up. ... just the track day fee.

They didn't require fire extinguishers for the first PDX. (I have one anyway.)

I see there are now three silver Z06s entered!

Still slots left.

I might be the 4th silver one , but I am still trying to decide. $200 + 60 for the membership, and then possibly another 25 for local dues (will I have to pay local dues?)... that's $285 for 1 day at the track. A 2 day NASA event cost slightly more than that including dues.

That is my dilema right now. I will make the decision in the next day... I'll probably be there.

Again ... I read somewhere that one does not have to be SCCA member.
I registered, and wasn't asked for member # ... just a credit card to charge 200.00 ... I'm now looking for the tech form and medical form that needs to be completed. Oh ... and find out how to join the WDCR-time-Trials Yahoo Group ... ???

I just registered. I also don't remember seeing anywhere that it asked me to select a run group. Do they put you in the appropriate group based on the experience that you list? When is this usually determined... the morning of the event or in advance? I have run in HPDE 2 in a couple NASA events and the novice group at the couple other events that I have done. This will only be my 8th day on a track and all have been at Summit main.

Can anyone fill me in on how SCCA differs, if any, from NASA, FATT, or the private events (like Mercedes club)?

From what I read of the rules, I don't think you need a medical form for level 1. Or did I read that wrong? However that would make sense... I have never needed a doctor's release or physical for an HPDE in the past.

Let us know what you find out.

I'm "efforting" this ATT. The pre-event and event day tech forms are in the forms section on the yahoo groups site (link in above post)
Was advised the "Medical Forms" are available from OG Racing ... (I thnk that's the full tilt boogie competition license app form. ...

I'm in email traffic with Ron Shurie of WDCC-SCCA on the medical form/card/whatever ... I think it's medical information ... not a physical ...
Let you know when I do.

I waited too long, so I'm wait-listed for FATT on 8 Jun. (its on the shennandoah circuit) Then I saw this thread and registered for the PDX. I don't think I'll do both.

Yes, five Vettes now, including four silver C5s and a red C4.

There is no "physical." There is a form, which was provided at the event, asking for basic medical data and emergency contact info. There is a lanyard option or a helmet attachment option that is provided.

I think the SCCA membership fee includes local/regional membership. good for future events and autoxes, BTW.

You don't pick a run group, they will assign you to one based on your experience. People who've done a 8-9 HPDEs but aren't track addicts are likely to be intermediates until they know you better and see if you belong in the advanced group.
