Default Brake Caliper question

My question is has anyone removed the upper and lower clip in the caliper? Will removing these clips to give the pad more room to float cause any other problems??

Thanks in advance!!!

I think they would move around too much. I would rather clearance the edges of the pad a little, if that really is the problem.

What were the symptoms of your problem? The outter pad really doesn't move, it just floats with the guide, since these are single (piston)-sided floating calipers
