Default Harness Bar thickness

I have a harness bar/camera mount. It is 1.79" in diameter and 5.625" in circumference. And its .064" thick made with quality STEEL. Would it be ok to use a harness on this?

That is a really big "if", most harness bars fail in that regard. The end conditions are one of the most important things in any structure, it makes a really big difference.

that is thinner wall than minimum roll bar thickness by 30%, but as above, the likelihood of it actually breaking is small.

Like most??? there are many differences in the end conditions. It is not just the fasteners, although there is no such thing as a "grade 8" metric fastener, (see chart on link below), it is about the sheet metal ends that matter.

mine is twice that wall thickness and has an extra hole on each side (with a corisponding threaded hole in the car to avoid the bar from rotating)
