SM2 rules clarification?
Am I correct in assuming that this means you could use flaired fenders? and the ACP front/rear fascias with the built in spoilers?
http://corvetteracebodies.com/worldc...ice%20list.htm
"Hoods (engine covers), front fenders, front & rear facias, and
side skirts may be modified or replaced, and may be attached
with removable fasteners. Fenders may be flared as per Street
Prepared. Non-metallic fender liners may be modified, replaced,
or removed."
Also is there a rule against the tires sticking out a little from the fenders?

okay, cool. I've got a long list of plans to build up to a competative SM2 car. Brakes are done, suspension and engine work are going to be done this winter. Bodywork is probably going to have to wait until next year which shouldn't matter too much for autoX anyways, more for the HPDE side of things.
I just want to know how a lower cost alternative to track days ended up so d___ expensive all of a sudden

SM2 has all types of odd cars running at different power and weight levels nationally. Corvettes, older RX7's, Porsches, supercharged Miatas, etc. that all do reasonably well.
It also depends a lot on the course design. Corvettes are big and fat and the trend (in SCCA) towards narrow, maintain-speed style courses gives the smaller cars a big advantage. Besides you can only put down so much power in 1st and 2nd gear...

I loved his headers too, but I'm not sure he's selling those.
