Tire Wear: 6 Track Days on Michelin Pilot Sport Cups(pics)
What do you see that I need to to get better tire wear?
Fronts at 30 lbs for track
Rears at 28 lbs

I would flip them on the rims. Not much else you can do. Track driving is hard on tires especially new ones. Hopefully, you switched them from side to side when going to the next HPDE.

Melting Slicks
6 days X 2 hours with what looks to be 2.5/32nds left is pretty darn good. You should be able to take these tires down to the cords, which is probably another 4 events at this rate. What are your hot pressures? It looks like the outside edge is getting chamfered, which could be a camber or pressure issue. I would recommend dismounting the tires and remounting in the same orientation on the opposite side. I realize that Michelin touts a different compound is used on the inside and outside of the tire but I doubt you would notice the difference. I presume that that front and rear are different sizes. I would also recommend treating the tires with Traction V(which is what I use) to freshen them up.

Do you have any idea of the temps? They look like they did not get that hot. Mine after 3 sessions last week on a 125 degree track were running about 185 and looked alot less smooth than yours.

Temps have not been taken.
Hot pressures; Front tire pressure has run as high as 38lbs and the rears to around 34-36.
If I need to a pyrometer can be in my future.
Help me out with what Traction V is..........tire conditioner(softener)?

If you want to minimize the wear in the center of the tire, I think higher pressures will help. Running wide tires at lower pressures may be quicker, but the center of the tread has a tendency to buckle outward between ribs while cornering hard and creating "groove of doom".
BFG had a real problem with this 10 years ago witht the R1 tires. Guys were cording the tires in the center after just a day of track time. Solution was to go higher on pressures.

Traction V is a tire softener/treatment applied for three days a few days prior to the event. It enhances grip(i.e speed) and with less rear wheelspin may enhance longevity. I have been using this on Hoosier GAC's and have not noticed any detrimental effect on wear, in fact just the opposite. You can but it at www.pegasusautoracing.com for $40; that is good tor treating 3 sets(or events.)
