You missed a really good one yesterday at Lime Rock. SCCA did a PDX. Got a lot of track time, and there were some outstanding SCCA racers including Chris Dyson doing instruction. I've never run with SCCA before, so had to have an instructor for the first session. Got signed off on, and moved up to the top run group. I had 3 sessions of almost open track and the chance to really push the Z. Next investment -- slicks!! The car does great on the Toyo T1-Ss, but I can just imagine what it will be like with a set of V710's.

Keep an eye out for SCCA events. Apparently they are going to be running a lot more PDX events, especially up at NHIS.

Probably difficult to find something in July at this late date. However, check the various Instructional Events on the Glen schedule and see if there any openings http://www.theglen.com/track%5Finfo/track%5Fschedule/ . Most of the groups can be found on the web and do not limit what kind of car you can use.

There is no question that NHIS is very intimidating for a lot of folks. There is no dishonor to admit it, I know of several very good National class T1 guys that have been more than a little scared the first time there. Just come and drive your own pace and forget what the other guys are doing (lap time wise). It is like admitting that a radial arm saw scares you (it sure does me!) and as long as you know it, it keeps you sharp and keeps all of your fingers attached. Same thing here, NHIS is a beautiful, first class facility, just respect it and do your own thing.

Trackman2,

CART (www.cartct.com) is holding a time trial at Pocono's south course on 7/31. Plenty of track time plus a time trial. Fun, fast, safe group to run with. They are back at Pocono's north course on 9/1 and than LRP on 10/2.
