Seriously, I'd love to see Robbie Gordon up front. Jeff Gordon's no slouch on a road race circuit either.
I'd love to see more road races also, and I think it would be good for NASCAR's fan base, also.
Joe, thanks again for the schedule info.
Have a good one,
Mike

I used to hate NASCAR, but they put on a great show on the road courses. When they first came to Sears Point half of them could not find the apex and or come close to the proper lines. Now most of them seem to know what they are doing. I hate to say it but they seem to be able to go more laps without bringing out the pace car than most of the road racing series that we watch.
Fellows, Pruet and Said are all entered. It would be nice to see one of them pull of the upset.

If any of you CA boys go to the race, check out the rental of the hand held Nextel thing that lets you see the in-car cameras and listen to the crews. I have tix to the Loudon race in 3 weeks, and I am thinking of renting it, so if anyone does, please let me know if it is worth it.

Does anybody else find this a little funny. It's from today Sacramento Bee:
[B]To encourage folks to spend a little time on-site after Sunday's Cup race before hitting the road, Infineon will invite fans to walk on the track itself -- and participate in a treasure hunt.
Hidden around the 1.99-mile course will be five "golden lug nuts" that can be redeemed for major prizes. Among them are a high-definition, flat-panel television, $4,000 Snap-On tool box and $500 gift certificates to Save Mart and Big O Tires.
"This is a unique opportunity for our fans to step out onto the field of play and explore the track where a few minutes earlier their NASCAR heroes were roaring by and banging fenders," raceway president Steve Page said.
This is the first time Infineon has hosted a "track walk" during NASCAR weekend. The concept could help ease traffic congestion as the massive crowd heads for the highways. The SPEED World Challenge race originally scheduled for Sunday after the Dodge/Save Mart 350 was moved to Saturday.
The track also hopes to raise some money for local youth groups. Donations for the track walk will be accepted for the Speedway Children's Charities
It is going to be very hot at Infineon on Sunday. I doubt many people will be in good enough shape to walk the track at the end of the race. There are not to many flat sections of track.
