Most cost effective wheel/tire setup for HPDEs?
I'm running my stock z06 wheels on Hoosier scrubs simply because I had the stock wheels in my shed and they're forged.
Now it's dad's turn... You can get a nice set of Z06 wheels for 500ish, but I was thinking that a set of grandsport 17x11 and 17x 9 would be cheaper and the tire cost would be cheaper too.
Jody don't your un 17x11 all around?

Your dad was smiling ear to ear all weekend, I know he enjoyed himself.

That's the configuration I ran it all weekend, and the one I run most. Where I seem to notice the biggest benefit to the 11" up front is under heavy braking.
But my combo is usually driven by what sets of tires (by pairs) I can generate for a track weekend...

I run this exact set up and it works great! I run the AFS aftermarket rims and they are built solid. Mine have now help up to 3 years of constant abuse. Don't be afraid to use $600 AFS.

For those of you that are running with the GS 17x11's all round can you tell me if you have any tire outside of the fenders if you look streight down? It's a rule thing ?
Also what kind of setup's and caster / camber spec's?
Just sorting a newly built C5 for track only.

When driven hard the 9.5 up front (if you use the proper size tire) will create a push, when driven very hard the push gets exasperated. Even with a great amount of throttle
For a new driver I believe it's better to push then gather.
My vote for 17's all around 11 (R) and 9.5's (F). I recently went to 11.5's all the way around with 315's on all corners and the car had great amounts of rotation. Too much for my liking but I have always been used to cars that push, growing up racing Mustangs and FWD cars.
