No expectation of prize money, No decals on car or trailer so no Contigancy even if you win or place = No expectation of Prize money or a free tire.

No decals on the trailer or rig ( no wonder guys put "Not for Hirer" on the sides of some of the trailers)

Dont even attemp to write off the expeses involved what so ever.

Keep total vehical weight under 26,000 lbs ( most states ) that is the tough one. Doully with GN trailer with car and junk inside may not make it.

Dont have fuel in the car, carry empty fuel jugs so you can get fuel at your destiation.

The big one seams to be 'expectation of profit.' Nooo problems there what so ever.

That sticker is worth its weight in gold!

To the law enforcement community, it's like Kryptonite to Superman!

I think this is much ado about nothing. As long as you are not running it as a business and trying to deduct any of your costs as business expenses, trailering your car to track day events won't be a problem. Even if you are racing, as long as you are not doing it for profit, or the expectation of profit, and don't have corporate sponsor money coming to you, it's not a business enterprise and is not going to cause a problem. The exception described in response to Question #21 set forth in the other thread will cover you. But obviously, if you are a "serious" racer, getting sponsor money/tires/support in any form, you should take note of the regulations and realize you could have a problem.

Since I'm not in that catagory and at my age no one is looking to recruit me into the pro ranks, I'll keep trailering my car and not worry about it.
