Quick alignment question - Help!
Hi everyone,
I just got back from the alignment shop and they did a good job on my caster/camber settings but I asked for 1/8 total total IN on the rear and their machine was set up in decimal places.
With that being said, it reported 0.29 toe on the left 0.26 toe on the right and 0.56 total toe.
Isn't toe in supposed to be a negative # ?
The tires are hoosier 315/35/17's which tire rack says are 25.6 inches overall diameter.
sine(.56) x 25.6 = .25 which is 1/4" if my math is correct. SO that part seems wrong too as it seems they toed each side 1/8" so total was 1/4.
Please advise! If this is the wrong toe on the rear, how will it affect handling at my auto-x event this evening?
Thanks!

Toe must be equal on both sides. not a total.
Front
-2 to -3 camber
max caster, but equal on both sides
1/16 toe out
rear
-1 to -2 camber
1/16 toe in
by your caculation car has, IMHO, too much toe, 1/8 total not on each side. Unless you are doing Auto-X then that will help with corners.

1/4" is not too much, but it is more than enough. I shoot for 1/8, but 1/4 has been used by some racers with success.
If you want to fix it, just crawl underneath and give each toe rod on the rear a couple of turns.
You need to TIGHTEN each one about 2 "flats", or 1/3 total turn each. That should get things pretty close.
If you have a tape and straight edge, you can measuer things yourself. Toe is the easiest to measure, and the correct (since it is done last on the C5/C6)
