Default A6 Pressure Information

My co-driver and I put 14 runs (40 sec) on them yesterday and here's what we found:

80 degrees on Asphalt, 275/285, -2.0/-1.3, 1/8 toe-out/1/4 toe-in

We started with 34/30, bled between runs, and weren't rolling to the edges after 3 runs each. Tire temps with a probe were around 125 fronts and 115/rears fairly even (within 5 degrees, at no time did the center exceed any of the edges) across the tread.

Dropped to 32/28 and now rolled to the line, with a few marks over the line. Temps rose to 145 fronts and 128 rear (again with even temps +-5 across the tread and center was always at or between the edges).

Tires gripped very well, however, I've never run 710s on this car so I can't compare...but they were definately better than my worn out s05s, FWIW.

Your results may vary...we've got to beat those Elises and GT3s!!

Comments or additions?

I've got just a few runs on A6s on my C6 Z51 and my pressures are low 30s F and high 20s to 30 for the R. Seems about the same as yours. I'm running 295s on 18x10 F and 315s on 18x11 R.

I hope others will jump in here.

26-28psi in the front, 20-25psi in the rear. About the same as what I used on the S05's - seem to work pretty well.

How many runs do you get going that low? And what do you use to determine the right pressures...rollover, temps, handling or feel?? Thanks for the feedback.

S05 pressures were determined from pyrometer readings, rollover, and overall feel. I matched the S05 pressures with the A6's, and watched rollover (was not able to get pyrometer readings) and feel. The carcass gets squirmy as you get into the lower 20's, but the forward bite did improve.

My setup is on a light car, sprung pretty stiff. 285/18's in front on 10.5's and 335/18's in the back on 13's.

I know some of the 1900 lb Elises were testing A6s down to 19 lbs in the rear but ended up close to 27 all around.

Anybody else with some data points they'd like to share?
